1. Tree Hugger Gumballs
Location Purchased: The Rocket
Package/Presentation
A simple plastic bag filled with about 28 gumballs. The gumballs are the size of the smaller ones, about the size of a dime. There are five flavors- classic bubble gum, pomegranate, lemonade, wildberry, and watermelon. The color of each of the flavors on the package is the respective gumball color. All are naturally colored with items such as beet, paprika, and beta carotene. No artificial flavors, no gluten, no nuts, and no dairy. The bags have a random assortment so do not expect to get even amounts of each flavor.
Experience
The gumballs itself have a light crunch and great consistency, but they do not have a lasting flavor.
Lemonade- Sweet, but light on lemon. No tang.
Watermelon- I get that weird sensation that I always get with candy watermelon flavoring, but it’s not the normal flavor of watermelon. The flavor fights with the normal gumball flavor.
Pomegranate- I taste pomegranate and also what I think the taste of the smell of new shoes would be like, but don’t take that as a bad thing. Eh?
Wildberry- A more plain/natural berry flavor than any other gum I have tried. It’s muddled with more than one so you cannot pick out specifics.
Classic Bubble Gum- The flavor closest to its namesake, in my opinion.
Afterthought
I love the consistency, it’s comparable to Japanese gumballs. The flavors are all interesting, but do not last long enough to give a good enough insight. A good choice for the food sensitive child.

  2. (This is an awful picture, ugh. The new camera will come soon!!)
Stride Sour Patch Kids Orange
Location Purchased: Random Gas Station
Package/Presentation
The funsie package of the other two, but with a orange hue. I didn’t take pictures of the inside, but believe me, it’s full of doodles of Sour Patch Kids. The package contains 14 pieces of sugar free gum.

Experience
This one is the most sour out of the three. I actually squinted a bit. It actually tastes more like an actual orange than orange candy! It does not taste like Sour Patch Kids. The problem is that the flavor does not last long. There is a worry about it deteriorating as well.
Afterthoughts
Not really much to say, it’s okay. Though it is rare to find just orange gum in sugar free form.

  3. Project 7 Mint Julep Gum
Location Purchased: Babies R Us
Package/Presentation
I feel bad that I didn’t find this in time for the Derby! I’m glad I still found it in general! That leaves one more new flavor (coconut lime) to find!
The resealable pouch contains 12 sugar free tablets. Two pieces make a serving. Proceeds of the purchase of this gum goes towards providing clean water to people.
Experience
Not much crunch to speak of, but the flavor hits you as you bite into it. There is a thick, sweet mint and the flavor of alcohol. If there was burning, I would think that I was having alcohol right now! The flavor lasts well and the texture is good.
Afterthoughts
This makes me yearn for the days where Orbit had their cocktail flavors! Those were the days! I’m not sure this flavor is for everyone, the alcohol flavor is a little harsh, and not for everyone.

  4. Juicy Fruit Bubblegum Original
Location Purchased: Target
Package/Presentation
Juicy Fruit like Bubble Yum?? I just stood there and stared at it with my head tilted. I was in disbelief, though, it all makes sense. Bubblegum like this is always juicy and flavorful, it makes sense.
The pack has five pieces sweetened with sugar and aspartame. The pieces are yellow, which shouldn’t bug me, but I am not over the color change.
Experience
It smells exactly like Juicy Fruit! It tastes like Juicy Fruit! It’s soft and makes a great wad. The aspartame helps keep the flavor lasting longer than just sugar sweetened gum. It gets harder as you chew, but not to the point of an aching jaw.
Afterthoughts
Love Juicy Fruit? Wanna blow bubbles? THIS IS FOR YOU!!

  5. Choward’s Scented Gum
Location Purchased: The Rocket
Package/Presentation
A simple, purple and gray cardboard package. There is a perforated opening on the side at the top, which is somewhat difficult to open, and is seriously smaller than the gum. You really have to shake that sucker to get those out without ripping the package to shreds. There’s 8 pieces that are like Chiclets and are sweetened with sugar. The pieces are a very deep violet color.
Experience
There’s no real crunch, it’s a soft coating. The first bite has a slight spice, then flower, then maybe the slightest mint, and all with a kick of sugar. It’s not a soapy taste. I think of potpourri, its taste makes you think of the fragrance…
Let me go breathe in someone’s face!
Annnd I’m back!
My mouth smells of clove and perfume. The opinion is that this is a better fragrance than having to smell mint. The Sniffer was also given gum and commented that it was eating potpourri and that it was sticking to his teeth. I did not have that issue and I have quite a bit of dental work. The flavor lasts a while, but the sweetness fades quickly. The consistency is decent too.
Afterthoughts
I think I actually like this. I’ll pop this before a meeting or interview instead of minty gum. (Spit it out before the interview!!) I like the idea of my mouth emitting perfume! @-,———

  6. TV Dinner Gumballs

    Location Purchased: perpetualkid.com

    Package/Presentation

    www.accoutrements.com

A funsie little tin, smaller than a normal Altoids tin, with an embossed  picture of a retro TV dinner on the front. There are three three colors to correspond with the three flavors: brown=roast beef, yellow=buttered corn, green=apple cobbler. As you can see, for some reason, the roast beef’s coating broke off of ALL the pieces, granted, I’m not looking forward to that gumball so I’m not that disappointed. I think they also thought it though when they figured out the amount of each gumball. I am sure the apple tastes the best and is the least intimidating.

    Experience

Each of them gets hard and loses flavor fairly quick, but that is to be expected from gumballs.

    Roast Beef

Oh god, oh god, it’s so weird. Very sweet, slight savory, more sour, and just, ugh… I am making a face, that you can’t see, but it’s there and it’s full of cringes. Like bad cereal, or a sweet flavored gym sock, just UGH! Luckily the flavor goes away, but it just doesn’t make it any better.

    Buttered Corn

It’s sweet, and there’s a flavor of buttered popcorn. MUCH BETTER than roast beef. It’s actually good.

    Apple Cobbler

A sour apple gum with some cinnamon, a nice, calm flavor after all this mess.

    Afterthoughts

Though I like the buttered corn and apple cobbler, there is no way that I would touch that roast beer again!! Blegh!!!

  7. Hubba Bubba A&W Gum
Location Purchased: 7-Eleven
Package/Presentation
There’s something so wonderful to me about Root Beer, A&W as the restaurant, and gum. I am already a fan of candy that tries to be like its carbonated counterpart. I also used to go to A&W quite a bit as a child. It’s comforting a nostalgic, to say the least.
As you can see, it’s the norm for Hubba Bubba, 5 pieces of bubble gum, that are individually wrapped in paper. The gum has both sugar and aspartame for sweeteners, so restrictive diets or people with allergies, beware!
I’m enjoying the fizzy art on the package, it makes me want some root beer!!
Experience
The scent is practically dead on for A&W root beer. A softer scent compared to other brands. The gum is a reddish chocolate brown, obviously close to the color of root beer. The gum is soft. The flavor takes a moment to hit, and is soft, just like the scent, which is perfect for A&W. It’s not overbearing, and there is just the hint of candy root beer barrel taste. There’s also that background flavor that is supposed imitate the experience of carbonation, I’m never sure how to describe it, but if you have had candy that is supposed to taste like soda pop, then you know what I am describing. The flavor lasts well for Hubba Bubba and seems to coat your mouth with flavor even when the gum has nothing left to give.
Afterthoughts
Hubba Bubba is making me a happy kid with a soda flavor that is practically spot on. Yummy! I wish I had vanilla ice cream gum to go with this…  I bet this would be great for bubbles, if I had any skill.
