Day 347: Gumballs

This is amazing and would be what I want from now on from a balloon artist!

  2. 5 Gum Tempo
Location Purchased:Walgreens
Package/Presentation
The normal tab closure pack with 15 sugar free sticks of gum. The foil is bright red. The package claims “…a rhythmic fruit punch.”
Experience
The smell is a heavenly fruit punch. The taste is just as heavenly. This fruit punch is the kind you had as a child that your parents would KILL YOU if you spilled it on the carpet. The flavor is not thick enough to choke you, but it is strong. Well, at least the initial flavor is, but the flavor fades quickly. There is the slightest cooling sensation, especially once the flavor fades. The gum is squeaky, but the consistency is good.
Afterthoughts
The flavor is so delicious and reminiscent of childhood, sadly, I keep having to pop pieces to keep it tasty. BUT I WILL!

  5. Extra Pumpkin Spice
Location Purchased: Walgreens
Package/Presentation
The actual package art seems hastily put together with some pretty clipart. It also doesn’t pop as much as the normal packs. Really, now that I’m taking some graphic art classes, I feel that this could have had a better presentation, but someone must have been rushed.
Otherwise, the pack has the normal 15 sugar free sticks of gum that are wrapped in foil.
Experience
The color of the gum reminds me of old school Juicy Fruit. It is a light beige, with maybe a hint of orange. It does have a spicy sweet scent. The sweet does smell a bit artificial, but the spice does not. The spice is light on scent. The first chew even reminds me of Juicy Fruit, really. It’s like a juicy fruit with pumpkin spices. The spice is light, and I cannot detect any true pumpkin, but then again it says “pumpkin spice”, much like the latte at Starbucks, it probably only has the flavors of the spice. The flavor does not last long, there’s not much spice to being with, more sweet than anything and it just makes me think of old school juicy fruit. The chew of the wad has some give to it, and gets harder as you chew.
Afterthoughts
I don’t know what I was expecting, but I am underwhelmed. It still satisfies my need for seasonal items, but it’s just not autumn enough! Now to find the Apple Crisp!

  6. No new blogs yet, sorry, my micro SD card snapped in half and I lost all my photos. I will be replacing them soon.

I will also be buying these new gum options as well! I can’t at the moment because I am between two jobs, so money is low. All of these were found at Target. The Trident ones are interesting because they are not candy coated, they are just gum with a bit of powder to keep them fresh! I’m excited to see if they have the same mouthfeel as the normal packs!

  7. SPOTTED ON SHELVES: Wrigley’s Extra Seasonal Edition Pumpkin Spice Gum | The Impulsive Buy →

I haven’t found it yet, but I will not stop until I do!

  8. SPOTTED ON SHELVES: Wrigley’s Extra Seasonal Edition Apple Crisp Gum | The Impulsive Buy →

I wonder if this will be like the Apple Pie gum. I haven’t found it yet, but I am on the search!

  9. I have been slacking!

And I apologize, lots of “life” got in the way. It’s going to stop now and there shall be gum blogs again!!!

  10. Tree Hugger Gumballs
Location Purchased: The Rocket
Package/Presentation
A simple plastic bag filled with about 28 gumballs. The gumballs are the size of the smaller ones, about the size of a dime. There are five flavors- classic bubble gum, pomegranate, lemonade, wildberry, and watermelon. The color of each of the flavors on the package is the respective gumball color. All are naturally colored with items such as beet, paprika, and beta carotene. No artificial flavors, no gluten, no nuts, and no dairy. The bags have a random assortment so do not expect to get even amounts of each flavor.
Experience
The gumballs itself have a light crunch and great consistency, but they do not have a lasting flavor.
Lemonade- Sweet, but light on lemon. No tang.
Watermelon- I get that weird sensation that I always get with candy watermelon flavoring, but it’s not the normal flavor of watermelon. The flavor fights with the normal gumball flavor.
Pomegranate- I taste pomegranate and also what I think the taste of the smell of new shoes would be like, but don’t take that as a bad thing. Eh?
Wildberry- A more plain/natural berry flavor than any other gum I have tried. It’s muddled with more than one so you cannot pick out specifics.
Classic Bubble Gum- The flavor closest to its namesake, in my opinion.
Afterthought
I love the consistency, it’s comparable to Japanese gumballs. The flavors are all interesting, but do not last long enough to give a good enough insight. A good choice for the food sensitive child.
